Balcony provides digital event invitation services. Balcony is currently operated by an individual service provider in India.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal data of Hosts and Guests who use our Service.

1. Information We Collect

Hosts

We may collect:

  • Name and email address.
  • Mobile number, where required.
  • OTP/account verification information.
  • Event details.
  • Photos, text, and other uploaded content.
  • Guest information entered by the Host.
  • RSVP information.
  • Purchase and transaction information.
  • Customer support communications.

Guests

Depending on the invitation, we may collect:

  • Name.
  • Mobile number or email address, where provided.
  • RSVP status.
  • Number of attendees, where applicable.
  • Messages or responses submitted through the invitation.

Guests generally do not need to create a Balcony account to RSVP.

Technical Information

We may also collect basic technical information such as IP address, browser/device information, access times, and security logs.

2. How We Use Information

We use personal data to:

  • Create and manage accounts.
  • Verify accounts using OTP.
  • Create and display invitations.
  • Process purchases and payments.
  • Record and display RSVPs.
  • Provide customer support.

  • Hosts may provide Guest information to Balcony and may view Guest RSVP information through their account.
  • Hosts are responsible for ensuring that they have an appropriate basis or permission to provide Guest information.
  • Guests may contact the Host or Balcony regarding their personal information.

4. Invitation Links

  • Some invitations may be accessible through a unique invitation URL.
  • Anyone who obtains the URL may potentially view information made available through the invitation.
  • Hosts should therefore avoid publishing unnecessary sensitive or confidential information.

5. Who We Share Information With

We do not sell Host or Guest personal data.

We may share information with service providers that help us operate Balcony, such as:

  • Payment providers.
  • Email/OTP providers.
  • Hosting and database providers.
  • Cloud storage and backup providers.
  • Security and technical service providers.
  • Analytics providers, if used.
  • Messaging providers, if used.

We may also disclose information when required by law or a lawful government or judicial authority.

Actual third-party providers used by Balcony will be reflected in this Privacy Policy where appropriate.

6. Payments

  • Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers.
  • Balcony does not normally store complete payment card or banking credentials.
  • Payment providers may process payment information according to their own terms and privacy policies.

7. WhatsApp and Messaging

If Balcony provides WhatsApp, SMS, or other messaging features, relevant information such as mobile numbers, invitation links, message content, and delivery information may be processed by the relevant messaging provider.
